Information We Collect
MedCheck collects the information you voluntarily provide when using the app, including your name, email address, medication names, dosages, schedule times, prescribing doctor notes, refill dates, and any notes you attach to a medication record. We also collect limited technical data such as device type and app usage analytics to improve reliability and user experience.
We do not collect sensitive biometric data, genetic information, or location data. Payment information is processed securely by Stripe; MedCheck never sees or stores your full card details.
How We Use Your Information
Your medication and health information is used solely to provide the features of MedCheck — including interaction checking, scheduling, refill reminders, dashboard summaries, and emergency view access. We use your email to send refill reminders, account-related notifications, and responses to support requests.
We may use de-identified, aggregated usage data to improve our services, analyze trends, and detect bugs. This aggregated data cannot be linked back to you or your medications.
How We Protect Your Data
Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to personal and health information is restricted to authorized personnel who need it to operate and maintain the service. We conduct regular reviews of our data handling practices to maintain safeguards.
Each user's medication data is isolated to their own account — other users cannot see or access your records. Authentication credentials are never stored in plain text.
Data Sharing & Disclosure
MedCheck does not sell, rent, or share your personal or health information with third parties for marketing purposes. We share data only in the following limited circumstances: (1) with service providers who help us operate the app (such as Stripe for payments and our cloud hosting provider for data storage), under strict contractual obligations of confidentiality; (2) when required by law or court order; or (3) in an emergency where disclosure is necessary to protect your safety.
The 'Share with Doctor' and 'Emergency View' features are initiated by you — your information is only shared when you choose to use these features.
Data Retention & Your Rights
Your medication data remains in your account for as long as your account is active. You can edit or delete any medication record at any time. You may request full deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us — we will process the request within 30 days.
You have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information. To exercise any of these rights, reach out through our Contact page.
Children's Privacy
MedCheck is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
